CPD day for the Bridgefield Physiotherapists: March 2015

 

The Bridgefield Physiotherapists gather for a mutual teaching day in Surrey: They cover Physiotherapy Assessment and Client caseload management and feedback to each other about the ACPAT Conference 2015.

Importance of working as a team when treating horses

This evening was run by Shotter and Byers to raise money for the RDA and Horse Rangers Association.

 

Bridgefield Physiotherapy were asked to accompany some speakers arranged for the evening including Prof. Roger Smith, an Orthopaedic Specialist based at the RVC and Chris Burton, 4* event rider.

 

Maruska discussed the importance of working as a team when treating horses.

South East Regional Meeting for ACPAT Phyiostherapists: April 2015

 

Bridgefield Physiotherapy meet with other south east region Physiotherapists in an attempt to discuss a possible physiotherapy protocol for kissing spine surgery in horses.

Painted horse demonstration at Parwood Equestrian centre for British Dressage: May 2015

 

Maruska provided a painted horse demonstration at Parwood Equestrian centre for British Dressage. Here Maruska discussed about equine biomechanics and how different work regimes can effect the equine athlete.

Painted horse demonstration at Orchard Cottage Riding Stables: May 2015

 

Maruska provided a painted horse demonstration at Orchard Cottage Riding Stables on behalf of Priory Vets, Reigate. Here, Maruska discussed the importance of stretches and discussed how cervical and back stiffness can present and how this can effect the horse’s movement.

Ridden Demonstration at Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre: July 2015

 

Ridden Demonstration at Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre

Bridgefield Physiotherapy will discuss why certain muscles become tight and weak and why stretching forms an important part of rehabilitation.

 

Moorcroft will also demonstrate long-reining and horses at various stages of their training.

Client Evening: September 2015

 

This was an educational evening held at Equine Aqua Training that Bridgefield physiotherapy held for Vets and Clients. Two Bridgefield physios, Olivia and Cintia presented their resent MSc projects and Maruska presented a recently published case study in the ACPAT journal. Dr Thilo Pfau also presented information regarding his new Equigait technology on Lameness assessment. This was very successful evening and Bridgefieldl Physiotherapy plan to repeat this event in 2016.
